First oil has been achieved at the fourth development phase of the Gumusut-Kakap-Geronggong-Jagus East (GKGJE) deepwater oil project. Located on the border between Brunei and Malaysia, the announcement has been made by Shell and its partners in the initiative.

GKGJE 4 consists of three oil production wells and one water injector: two wells in Brunei and two in Malaysia.

The consortium of developers expect this phase to produce 21,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).
